Built on top of the Carpathia Services Network our virtual DR solution allows customers to balance price and recovery time objectives of based on their business continuity plans. Virtual DR is available as two solutions.

• Active DR – in this mode a virtualized platform is live at all times to the customer ready to take control should the production environment fail. Data between production and DR is replicated across CIRN™ making sure your solution is always ready.

• Staged DR – using the same virtualized platform as our active DR solution Carpathia ensures that your data is snapshot to the DR environment at regular intervals. In staged DR your virtual machines are ready to be activated when you need them but not constantly running. For many customers this provides a cost effective method of meeting their business continuity obligations without the traditional cost of a full disaster recovery environment.
